Jo Williams is a multimedia artist that specializes in bold and imaginative artwork. She weaves together her background in Public Health, her personal experience with mental health, and a deep love of her community to create thought provoking imagery. The themes of Grief and Joy are both equally important to her and and often captures them simultaneously through her art. Her practice engages oil pastel, acrylic, watercolor and digital art, photography and mixed media, to capture the beauty of personal and communal experiences. In addition to her artwork, she enjoys creating interactive artistic experiences for others, including art picnics and reflection prompts. Born in Los Angeles, she moved to the Bay Area at 14, where she later received her BA in Human Biology and her Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley.
